Bishop Neumann starts “Community System”

Bishop Neumann Catholic High School implemented a community system today (in lieu of Student Council).
There are four larger Communities, each with a patron Catholic Saint. These were chosen by the students last semester. Each Community is broken into smaller groups (similar to a home room). These smaller groups will meet daily and focus on either a spiritual or social aspect. The small groups will be lead by both faculty and student leaders. There will be many opportunities for leadership and faith development throughout the year. Students will remain a part of their same community their entire time at Bishop Neumann.
Overall, the students already know the theology of our Catholic faith, but the hope is that this community system will lead to more opportunities to live out their faith. Students will attend weekly Mass with their community, fulfill service requirements with their community, and ultimately build trusting relationships with others that will foster a growth in their relationship with God.
