LUNCH PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENTS
The USDA has announced for the school year 2022–2023 all students will return to paid lunches according to the National School Lunch Program. Parents, if applicable, should fill out the Federal Lunch Application for free or reduced meals. We encourage all families to review the forms and if you have any questions to contact us. A copy of the Federal Free and Reduce Meal application, Letter to Parents, and the Income Eligibility chart are attached to this email, paper copies are available in each of the school offices, and on the Bishop Neumann website:
https://bishopneumann.com.
Meal, prices have been set for the school year 2022–2023. Bishop Neumann Students, Seventh to Twelfth grade, will be $3.75, St. Wenceslaus and St. John’s students, Pre–Kindergarten to Sixth grade, will be $3.50. One milk is included in the meal price, a second milk or milk is taken with a cold lunch will be $0.55. The second entrée (double) will be $1.50, Fifth grade through Twelfth.
Snack prices at Bishop Neumann will be posted in the snack cart.
We will not be providing breakfast at Bishop Neumann. In reviewing the participation of the breakfast program at Neumann over the last year we will not be extending breakfast at this time. St. John’s will return to the grab-and-go breakfast they have had in the past. Bishop
Neumann will have the snack cart available during the access period (7:45 to 8:15) and during lunch service (these items will be an additional charge if the student chooses to take them). We recommend all parents/guardians have a conversation with your student(s) about the purchase of snacks/ala carte, extra milk, and doubles as these items are extra costs and along with lunch, these will be charged to the student’s account.
We encourage families to keep their student’s lunch accounts current. You may send checks or cash to each of the schools’ offices, designated to the cafeteria, or set up a lunch account at www.myschoolbucks.com. We ask that lunch accounts be kept current as the negative lunch policy will be in effect, which can be found in the Student Handbook or on the website www.bishopneumann.com.
The Kitchen staff is looking forward to the new school year. If you have any questions or concerns please call the school (402–443–4151), ask to speak to Carolyn, or email your concerns to kitchen@cdolinc.net.
