2025 St. Damien of Molokai Scholarship Award

The winner of the St. Damien of Molokai Scholarship this year is Natalie Cantrall. The St. Damien of Molokai Scholarship is awarded through the Service Hours Coordinator and the Religion Department. This award is granted to a current 9th, 10th, or 11th grade student that has completed his/her service hours at Bishop Neumann and has gone above and beyond in the service of others.

The endowed scholarship currently distributes $250 per year. It is awarded to that student who best exemplifies Jesus’ words, “Whatsoever you do to the least of my brother, you do unto me”. (Mt.25:40) Natalie has gone above and beyond the required service hours and has done a variety of service. She has completed close to 100 service hours, well in excess of the required 15. Some of these include serving at the Waffleman, doing ditch clean-up, Knights of Columbus chili cook off, fair ground clean-up, multiple concession stands, St. Joseph’s Church bazaar, 4-H clover camp, helping people move, helping with farm chores, and volunteering at the used uniform sale.

Natalie is the type of student who leads with humility and treats everyone around her with dignity.  She has a strong work ethic and is very responsible. She has gone above and beyond what is required for service hours.  Congratulations, Natalie, and thank you for being an outstanding Bishop Neumann role model!
