Dr. Clement McGill was born Jan. 9, 1945, in Wisner, NE. He attended Country School District 40 near Wisner and graduated from Wisner High School. He went to Wayne State College for one year on a football scholarship. He transferred to Creighton University where he got his pre-dental education. He was accepted at the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry and graduated with his Doctor of Dental Science degree. He married Sheila A. Fogarty on June 17, 1967, in Omaha. He served in the U.S. Navy near Lexington Park, Md., from 1970-72. Following his discharge from the Navy, he and Sheila moved to Wahoo where he opened his dental practice. The couple adopted Matthew in 1973 and Andrew in 1975. Craig was born in 1982 and Elizabeth in 1985. He was a parishioner at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and played guitar for the St. Wenceslaus Folk Choir. He also coached Legion baseball and various softball teams.
Sheila McGill was born on Feb. 4, 1945, in Omaha, NE. She graduated from St. Cecilia Cathedral High School in 1963 and Duchesne College of the Sacred Heart. She taught school at Greenwood Elementary in Greenwood for one year and then stayed at home to raise their family. She began teaching at St. Wenceslaus School in 1992. She was a parishioner at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. She was active in Pro-Life and served on many committees at the school.
On June 15, 2007, Clement and Sheila both died as a result of an automobile accident. The McGill family established the Dr. Clement & Sheila McGill Memorial Scholarship at Bishop Neumann High School in their memory. Each year, a high school student will receive a $500 scholarship for tuition assistance.
